BARASAT: A profligate Mohun Bagan threw the Group D wide open as they lost 1-0 to Vasco Sports Club at the Barsat Stadium, here on Sunday. Agnelo Colaco's curling volley from around 20 yards fooled the Bagan goalkeeper to give the Goan club a deserving win.
In the earlier match, Oil India's inexperience cost them two points as Air India snatched a late equalizer.
Michael Tayo scored in the dying minutes to help Air India salvage a 1-1 draw against qualifiers Oil India Limited.
Bagan's loss means Air India are now on top with 4 points from two matches, while Bagan and Vasco are in the same boat with three from two.
On Tuesday Bagan need to win against Air India and that too by a big margin, while Vasco will go for a similar thing against Oil India. Air-India, meanwhile, will be through if they manage to just draw against the green-and-maroons and hope Oil India to take atleast point from Vasco.
